Berto Edges Collazo Retaining WBC Title!

WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (24-0, 19 KOs) escaped a very close decision by beating Luis Collazo (29-4, 14 KOs) on Saturday night at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. Collazo started the fight quickly by almost knocking Berto down with a straight left that sent Berto reeling backwards and finally catching himself against the ropes. The fight was fought mostly on the inside, Collazo seem to get the better of Berto when they were on the inside and Berto was deducted a point for holding in round four, Berto started boxing from the outside in round five and had a few good rounds. Collazo got a second wind in rounds nine and ten, but Berto closed the fight strong hurting Collazo to the body to pull it out. Judges scores were 116-111, 114-113, 114-113.
