Luis Ortiz Tests Positive Before Wilder Fight!

Luis Ortiz has failed a drug test, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman confirmed Friday.

Ortiz tested positive for banned substances in a test administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association. Ortiz was scheduled to fight Deontay Wilder in a heavyweight title fight on Nov. 4, but promoter Lou DiBella told ESPN’s Dan Rafael that the fight will likely be canceled.

This is the second time that Ortiz has failed a drug test. In 2014, after scoring a first-round knockout on Lateef Kayode, Ortiz tested positive for steroids and was suspended for eight months, and that fight was ruled a no-decision.

Frampton Signs With Frank Warren!

Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren? has signed three-time world champion Carl Frampton to a promotional deal. ‘The Jackal’ recently cut ties with long-term promoter Barry McGuigan and trainer Shane McGuigan, who is Barry’s son. He will now be trained by Jamie Moore. Frampton stated via social media: “Offers on the table and I went with the best one. As simple as that.”

Alvarez-Golovkin Battle To A Draw At T-Mobile!


On Saturday night in a sold out crowd of 22,358 at the T-Mobile Arena Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin battled to a draw. Golovkin retained his unified Middleweight Titles. Alvarez began strong, looked to counter in the middle rounds, then finished with a tremendous flurry in a contest hyped as a war and which ultimately turned into one. Alvarez got the nod on judge Adalaide Byrd’s scorecard by a wide margin of 118-110, but Dave Moretti had it 115-113 for Golovkin and Don Trella ruled it a draw.

Wladimir Klitschko Retires, No Joshua Rematch!

Former two-time heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko has retired. “I have achieved everything I dreamed of, and now I want to start my second career after sports,” said the 41-year-old Klitschko in a statement. He had been considering a rematch with WBA/IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua later this year after their epic battle before 90,000 fans in London in April. Wlad’s two reigns as heavyweight champion were between 2000-2003 and 2006-2015. He leaves with a record of 64-5, 53 KOs.
